Throughout high school, my idea of a career path changed constantly. From wanting to be a pre-school teacher to a child psychologist and then a chef, I was faced with major choices when leaving the comfort and security of boarding school. The reason I decided on Prue Leith College of Food and Wine was so that I could travel, meet people and learn about the world and its different cultures through food. I have always enjoyed cooking and particularly entertaining and although chef school was an intense 18 months, I find myself learning evermore with every person I meet and every job I encounter.

I spent 2 years in the UK which taught me more about life than any school could ever offer. In those two years I was fortunate enough to live in a few different areas and gain experience in various jobs, some of which were aupairing for a loving family, invoice administrator for an IT firm, receptionist in a quaint 5 star hotel, the baker for an up market deli and managing for a fresh new cafe. Needless to say I enjoyed every minute of those 2 years and put the utmost effort into getting all I could out of every job opportunity.

I joined capetownchef.com in April 2010 when Chef Jeremy Vermaak took a fully qualified team over to Mykonos Island to service two private villas for 6 months. Chef Jeremy is an exceptional chef oozing with knowledge and enthusiasm and I felt, and do feel, privileged to be working with and learning from him.

I have recently relocated to beautiful Cape Town so as to continue working with capetownchef.com and obtain inspiration from the artistic flair this city has to offer. This season I have found a good balance between cooking and caring for children within families as well as undertaking elaborate celebratory dinners.

I look forward to spending countless exciting seasons here in Cape Town, working with Jeremy and his motivated team.
