Established in 2008, CAPE TOWN CHEF is a dynamic team of professional chefs led by Chef Jeremy Hunt. He has developed and trained the team to service the needs of summer vacation rentals, private homes, exclusive hotels and their discerning guests who have a taste for bespoke gourmet cuisine and exceptional private service. 

Based in Cape Town, we travel to local and foreign destinations to share our expertise and skills in your kitchen and give your senses an experience. Passionate about what we do - our love of food and quality ingredients permeates all of our dishes. We are truly inspired when we know the source of our produce and how it was cultivated from farm to table. Our team of talented chefs is well-travelled and can bring our unique CAPE TOWN CHEF style to a variety of cuisines.

About Jeremy Hunt

Jeremy was brought up in the KwaZulu-Natal Midlands and spent his childhood on a large dairy farm that is renowned for his mother's artisanal cheeses. Surrounded by the strong food culture of the Natal Midlands Meander, Jeremy unwittingly had his future carved out for him.

He later enrolled at the well-known Silwood School of Cookery, a Cordon Bleu cooking school in the Western Cape of South Africa where he found his true passion for cooking. Since qualifying Jeremy excelled in the hospitality industry, using his skills as a passport to many different countries where he gained experience in cooking, food trends, produce and leadership.

As a classically trained Cordon Bleu Chef, his culinary style has a foundation of French cuisine, but through years of travelling and cooking abroad he has adopted a large repertoire of styles and use of flavours, allowing the fresh and seasonal produce of the area to be his compass in creating dishes. 

A passion for food and raw ingredients reflects daily in his work and at home. Healthy eating has always been a way of life for Jeremy. He prefers clean food where each ingredient is respected, not masked but rather enhanced through pairing. The focal point of each of his dishes is usually one lavish component that is accompanied by something unique or classical that he has picked up through his years of experience in food preparation.

I will forever be a student to food and the myriad possibilities each raw ingredient holds. It brings out the artist within. I cook because it relaxes me and simultaneously challenges me. It affords me opportunities to travel and surrounds me with summer. Food is at the heart of all meeting places. Never repetitive and always exciting. I cook because food is my culture.
